Teacher Education
I am a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in lives of children. This great hope has a somewhat limited impact in relation to being a mere teacher, this has created the urge to become a School’s Pnncipal so as to have a greater influence on policies and procedures which impact on learning. I strongly believe in the work of the educational psychologist —Vygotsky, who claims that learning is socially constructed. The school environment should therefore cater for socially constructing this learning in students.
I believe that students also need to claim responsibility for learning and be become responsible not only for themselves but to the entire community, therefore realizing their responsibility also to society and the world at large, in making it a more productive place. I believe not only in teaching subjects but rather in teaching individuals.

I am married to a teacher who shares my life passion and interests. My husband Horatius, was born of Bridgelal Ramjattan- a School’s Principal and Majorie
Ramjattan- seamstress in Barrackpore, South Trinidad. Our backgrounds are uniquely similar which serves as a greater bond to our relationship.
My eldest child is Arianna. She is fifteen years of age which a very photogenic memory, she has a great capacity in cramming and remembering anything that she has ever read. A very loving and loyal child who is passionately devoted to her family, friends and her only brother Adrienne.
My son Adrienne is thirteen years of age. He simply loves Sports- cricket, and golf are tus favourites. He is a very adorable and generous child who would try to save the world from despair.
